Dr. Lakitha Owens is Black cisgendered hearing woman, a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor and founder of Purple Cares. She has a PhD in Clinical Psychology from Gallaudet University. Dr. Owens provides therapy services via telehealth in English and American Sign Language (ASL).  She is passionate about providing care to children, caregivers and individual adults in areas of managing mood, adjusting to difficult life challenges/ transitions, improving relationships, and starting trauma healing journey. Dr. Owens enjoys using play therapy techniques, creative/expressive modalities, and talk therapy to help clients process and navigate their experiences and improve relationships and quality of life.
